What are prenatal visits for?
Prenatal visits are a chance for us to get to know each other and establish your preferences regarding my role in your labor and birth. During our visits, we can talk about any topics, questions, or concerns you have. I will talk you through the typical progression of your pregnancy, and what to expect as you approach the final trimester and labor.
My focus is on your holistic wellbeing. Whether you need a relaxed coffee date, a thorough birth planning session, question-and answer, or a place to vent, I am available to listen and direct you to resources and provide support for a more confident, peaceful pregnancy. Partners are welcome.
What does labor support look like?
Whether you have a cesarean section or vaginal delivery– planned or unplanned– I provide emotional, physical, and educational support to you throughout your birthing process. I help inform you on pain management options, offer comfort measures, and maintain a healthful environment.
While empowering partners, friends, or family members to take the lead, I can also step in to make sure they get the rest they need. I am happy to play as much or as little a role as needed, from constant counter pressure and cheering, to simply ensuring dim lights and a soothing atmosphere.

What is postpartum support?
I am available postpartum as a resource and a friend. I will visit you a day or two after birth (before hospital discharge if applicable), and then a second time, usually in your home, to see how you and your family are doing.
As someone who’s been with you on your journey, I process your birth with you, celebrate your strength, and reassure you in early newborn & postpartum challenges. As things come up, I am available through phone or email to point you to community professionals and support. My virtual collection of educational resources are available to clients for the first year.
If you have more questions about my services, I’d love to discuss them with you.
